Lucks Lane Widening
NXL is currently providing Construction Management and Inspection on this $12.5 Million project involving the construction of approximately 6,640 LF of roadway widening on Lucks Lane from Spirea Road, passed East Evergreen Parkway, to Route 288. The two-lane undivided roadway is being expanded to a four-lane divided roadway with bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
This project includes construction of right and left turn lanes, the extension of an existing 12×19 quadruple box culvert at Falling Creek, a 412 LF soil nail wall east of Falling Creek, and a 512 soldier pile retaining wall west of Walton Bluff Parkway. This project also includes construction of a proposed traffic signal at the intersection of Walton Bluff Parkway / Water Willow Drive and Lucks Lane. The work includes clearing, grading, asphalt paving, drainage structures and piling, box culvert extensions, retaining walls, erosion and sediment control, maintenance of traffic, traffic signal, signage, pavement markings, parcel clearing and demolition, relocation of existing waterlines, and other items necessary for completion of the work. NXL’s duties include composing Daily Work Reports and weekly reports, performing Work Zone Safety inspections, Environmental inspection forms C-107’s; submittal tracking logs (C-25s), Monthly Wetland Inspection Reports, and maintaining the Materials Notebook. Shane Weakley, Senior Construction Inspector, attends Monthly Progress Meetings and holds periodic QA / QC Meetings.
Mr. Weakly performs inspection and is in charge of field operations, including utility work (water lines), grading, traffic signals, drainage, retaining walls, landscaping, paving, traffic controls, sidewalk, curb and gutter, box culvert extension, and environmental. Furthermore, NXL coordinates activities with Chesterfield County employees, Contractor personnel, and Quality Control staff.
